A connection does not always stay airside

Depending on airport, terminal and itinerary, you may pass security again. Self-transfers and separate tickets increase the chance that you must collect baggage and re-enter departures.

Liquids can be screened again

A liquid accepted at the first airport is not guaranteed to pass a later checkpoint, especially when one airport allows 2 litres and another uses 100 ml.

Keep duty-free liquids sealed

Duty-free liquids should remain in the required sealed security bag with proof of purchase according to your route and transfer-airport rules.

Connections can change the rule

During a connection, the key question is whether you clear security again and whether checked baggage is tagged through.

  • Self-transfer and separate tickets increase the chance of re-screening and bag re-check.
  • Keep duty-free liquids with proof of purchase and in the required sealed security bag.
  • Check the transfer airport, not only the first departure airport.

Who prepares the answers

How the answer is produced

Automation helps format, compare and translate data. A rule marked verified must be linked to an official source; conflicts and exceptions remain visible.

What can override the rule

A specific airport, airline, route, destination-country rule or a security officer may apply a more restrictive requirement.
